album info:
Released 2004. His most personal album searches inward, examining
being black, gay, and an American in the new millennium. Givens'
other creative influences include living in New York pre and post '9-11',
as well as coming to terms with a childhood friend killed by
Jeffery Dahmer. It's also about finding a new home in the concrete
jungle, combing digital textures, samples, moog, drum machines, cello,
sax, and various voices as a dark, seductive, and personal statement.

As with Age, Givens elects to use various musiscal contributors including:
Ihu Anyanwu on vocals (Nigerian born, owner of Repellant magazine,
recording artist G-Rizo).
Lehni Lamide on vocals (Nigerian born, Asiko & Mike Ladd's Magesticons (Big Dada)),
Semay Wu on cello (Homelife - Ninja Tune).
Matana Roberts on saxophone. AACM member (Sticks & Stones -
Thrill Jockey
, Greg Tate's Burnt Sugar, and featured on the last
Godspeed You Black Emperor! album.
Fred Ones (Mike Ladd, Beans, Akbar & Jemini, and a member of
Sonic Sum) helped record and mix the album in the Bronx, NY.

A sonic journey with connections to: Tricky, Lee Perry, Scott Heron, Saul Williams, Madlib, Pole, Sun Ra & Prince.
